Merry Christmas?

Totally Awesome Picture of the Week 11

For those of you who celebrate the 25th day of the 12th month, happy day! This picture will be dedicated to you for no particular reason other than it happens to be that day (hooray). There are a number of approaches we could take<: Christmas duck, organized religion, or the togetherness of a family/flock, however, since we’ve been asked by numerous parents to make the blog more “happy,” and it is the gift giving season, we will give it a try, and then, most likely, you will never ask for it again.

It is obvious that this picture was snapped with careful, steady intention in a local meat market. Using the magic of the holiday season, let’s look at these beautiful ducks as Christmas trees, neatly lined on a farm, waiting with the utmost excitement for “their” time. Can you see it? Aren’t they lovely! Perhaps those hooks through their eye-sockets are their life sustaining roots, feeding their trunks of tender-plucked-neck in this upside-down world.

“Oh, joyous day!” Their time has come to be chosen based on promises of grandeur, cut free of said roots, excessively decorated, placed in center stage and… wait, what are we talking about?

– politicians? ducks? Christmas trees? –

Sure. Use your imagination. Merry Christmas!
