The Chinese Workers (Part I): a poem

Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It’s home from work we go…

But in the morn we won’t head back
They say the machine is going slack
The boss has gone and shut the door
Our cheap-o toys won’t sell no more

Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It’s not to work we go…

All those kiddies in the foreign lands
Won’t have our toys to fill their hands
Cause their mums and dads must put their cash
In a nice safe place, a box, a stash

Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
What to do we just don’t know…

But for now we’ll try to make the most
With mah-jong games and baijiu toasts
Hope that things begin to perk
And whistle why we wait for work
