“The Street Cats of Zheshida Old Neighborhood is a collection of feral cat portraits taken in the Zhejiang University old teachers’ dormitory neighborhood in Jinhua, China. The cats live in a similar fashion to their homeless human counterparts; mainly they survive on handouts. They spend their days digging in trash cans, eating through plastic trash bags and resting in the sun. I save the meat from most of my meals for the cats and to pay me back they pose for my camera. Despite their blackened muzzles, the cats remain dignified in their posture and behavior. They rarely fight over food or space and all (but Pushy Susan) wait patiently for the delivery of their scraps.”
