Totally Awesome Picture of the Week 68

In the dark corner of a far away forlorn church stand these three forgotten souls. Bruised, dirty, chipped and abandoned they doze like wallflowers in the shadows as patrons play hooky for every reason but lack of sin.
In their bright vestments creased with dust the saints and saviors of yesteryear dream of the good’ol days when esteem was high and church donations flowed like golden glacier runoffs in the eternal spring of global warming.
Now, though. Now there are ten such derelict churches in a 50 kilometer radius. Ten churches to share one imported minister of faith. A foreigner preaching right and wrong to a small audience every tenth Sunday. Some may say:

When it’s 90 plus degrees with 100% humidity and your neighbor’s coal smoke is pumping along with the encephalitis mosquitoes through your broken window screen and down on the street the men who actually wear shirts have them rolled up past their nipples, while inside your apartment the ants, spiders and cockroaches have started to out number the giant gray dust bunnies, you know it’s summer in China.
With the onset of this flighty season arrive otherwise unexplainable impulses. For some this means a constant knee bounce, anticipating an end, whether actual or imagined; others are inclined to bare-feet and daydreams; and others still, short shorts…

“Together we can change the world” she said to me that night. We were watching my favorite show. She knew I didn’t like her to talk to me when it was on. I looked at her in a moment of drawn out suspense. From the sweat beaded above her eyes I knew the fever had returned and so I nodded instead of drawing attention to the absurdity of her words.
When the show ended she was asleep. I got up to get a beer, there were some in the fridge but it has been broken all month so I had to drink it warm. It stuck in my throat and made me burp those deep foul tasting burps of near regurgitation. The news was on and soon I was asleep too.
My ears awoke me to the sudden void that appears at the powe…

Hey! You! Hippopotamus! Yeah, you. Can you take a hint? I’ll crouch here, wiping this soapy water over my non-smelly motorbike while you fat, needy beast wallow there in your own filth with a perfectly good bathtub not 5 feet away. You’d think you’re some sort of Mongol king the way you stand around languidly in your luscious cage. Are you waiting for me to come down there and scrub you like an SUV? Well forget it if so. That is NOT going to happen.
“River horse” they call you but let me tell you, you look more like a dinosaur than any horse I ever saw and the only thing that’s river-like is the near constant piss/shit train you’ve got goi…

Totally Awesome Picture of the Week 64

There is a new stench in the monkey house. In addition to the usual miasma of scattered manure and stale ejaculations that your primordial brethren so love to assault your intruding nasal passages with lay heaps of molding unconsumed Chinese food morsels, at once proving the ape’s superior intelligence and disproving Darwin’s theory of evolution, which wrongly puts humans eras in advance of the shelf-heads.
Similar to watching mud swallow an off-roading pickup truck, witnessing this grandmother/granddaughter pair is both painful and fascinating. How often do you get to see stupidity grow?
I’ll answer for you: Infrequently. I should know, bein…
